Pastor Rick & Stacey Perry

Rick & Stacey Perry – Pastor Rick & Stacey Perry lead this great team at Haven of Hope. Rick is a graduate of both Indiana Bible College and Great Lakes University, B.A. of Religious Studies. Stacey attended Texas Bible College before serving as the secretary of a growing church in upstate New York. Married in Botswana, Africa in 1994 they both draw from a life of ministry. Stacey grew up in a missionary’s home in Moshi, Tanzania while Rick is the son of a church planter in Ohio, USA. The Perry’s helped establish and grow the Learning Centre School and the United Pentecostal Church of Botswana with Stacey’s parents in Botswana, Africa for many years. Eventually God called them and their family to New Haven, CT to establish Haven of Hope. Rick has served as Senior Pastor of Haven of Hope for 7 years, while Stacey is our HoH Kids Team Lead. Together they have two children, Alyssa and Alex, who are also heavily involved in the Kingdom of God, both at Haven of Hope and abroad. The Perrys have a strong burden and passion for the greater New Haven community, and have a desire to reach as many people as possible with the Gospel and Christ-like love and compassion.

Michael & Amanda Thompson

Michael and Amanda Thompson operate in many capacities at Haven of Hope. Amanda fills the role of Financial and Book Keeping Assistant where she assists in supporting the financial tasks for the church, as well as serving as the Assistant Hospitality Team Lead alongside Team Lead, Alyssa Perry. Michael is one of Haven of Hope’s Associate Ministers and Connect Group Leaders, and both Amanda and Michael sing as a part of the Worship Team. Michael is a veteran of the United States Army where he graduated from Air Assault School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, and Combat Tracker School, and is currently pursuing a double Major in Political Science and Legal Studies at Quinnipiac University. Amanda has her Associate of Arts in Accounting.

Caleb & Brittany Johnson

Caleb and Brittany Johnson serve in multiple capacities at Haven of Hope. Caleb helps lead our Discipleship courses, as well as serving as the Growth Track Team Lead, drummer, and an Associate Minister at HoH. Brittany serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Pastor, where she is an intricate part of many aspects of the church. She also co-leads Growth Track, and sings on our Worship Team. Brittany is a graduate of Indiana Bible College with a B.A. in Biblical Studies, and a Minor in Social Science, while Caleb is obtained both his B.S. in Criminal Justice, and M.S. in National Security from the University of New Haven.

John & Kara Banores

John and Kara Banores are a young couple enthusiastic about being a part of one of Haven of Hope’s most fun and energetic teams. Serving under Stacey Perry as “HoH Kids” team coordinators, John and Kara dedicate each of their Sunday mornings to making sure the children of HoH have a safe environment conducive to learning about God, all while in a fun and age-appropriate forum. John also volunteers as a part of our Transportation Team, which utilizes our church van to ensure everyone who wants to be a part of our service has the opportunity to do so.

Edwin & Donna Amoro

A seasoned minister of the Gospel, Edwin Amoro has served as a part of Haven of Hope’s leadership team since the early inception of the church. He, along with his wife Donna lead one of our Connect Groups, as well as serving as an Associate Minister at HoH. Edwin also served for many years in the United States Air Force. We are blessed to have the Amoros as faithful members of the Haven of Hope team.

Moriah Gildart

Moriah serves as the Worship Team Lead at Haven of Hope. Trained classically and well experienced in the arena of worship music, she excels at helping create an amazing atmosphere of worship every Sunday at HoH. Under her leadership, Haven of Hope has developed a dynamic team of musicians and singers. Moriah graduated from the University of Saint Joseph with a B.S. in Biology, during which time she also spent time in Vienna, Austria studying music and opera. She is currently a 4th year doctoral candidate in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Connecticut Health Center.


Barbara Nicholls

Barbara Nicholls is the head of one of Haven of Hope’s most valued ministries; the Prayer Ministry Team. This team is responsible for keeping a culture of fervent and targeted prayer our foremost priority. The Prayer Team consists of a network of dedicated individuals and keeps the services and leadership of Hoh covered in prayer.

Chris & Dr. Rachel Gilbert

Chris and Dr. Rachel Gilbert are two core individuals who help us advance the mission of Haven of Hope. Chris serves an important role as our “A-Team” Foreman. The A-Team is our team of volunteers that arrive early and stay behind late each Sunday to help setup and breakdown our equipment. Chris heads this team, as well as singing with our Worship Team, and is an Associate Minister of HOH. Rachel leads Community Action Ministries, or CAM. CAM is our way of getting even more involved in our communities though volunteer and charitable work throughout the greater New Haven area. Rachel grew up in California, where she earned at her Bachelor’s Degree at University of the Pacific, and later her Doctorate in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. Chris graduated from Housatonic Community College where he studied Advance Manufacturing and Machining.


Alyssa Perry

Alyssa Perry is Haven of Hope’s Hospitality Team Lead. As Team Lead, Alyssa is responsible for making sure the guests of Haven of Hope are treated with first-class hospitality as soon as they walk through our doors. At Haven of Hope, we know visiting a new church can sometimes be daunting, so we make it our priority to make sure guests feel welcome. Alyssa is the daughter of Pastor Rick and Stacey Perry, and a young entrepreneur. Her background involves event planning on a large scale, and she puts these skills to use with our team.

Neil & Eka Burgess

With over 20 years serving in ministry, Neil currently is serving as an Associate Minister and the Sound/ Production Lead with Haven of Hope Ministry.

Neil earned his MBA from Albertus Magnus College, a Master of Science in Information Technology Project Management from Villanova University and a B.S. from Albertus Magnus College with a major in Computer Information System. Neil is a certified Black Belt Six Sigma and he is also a Project Management Professional. He is a member of the Southern Connecticut Project Management Institute (PMI).

Neil and his wife, Eka Burgess, have been married since 2006. Eka holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Accounting. Together they coached the Junior Bible Quiz Team, HOH Kids, resulting into 2 (two) consecutive State Championships. Neil and Eka see their greatest achievement as being the parents to their two beautiful children while serving the Lord and being a Godly example to their children.

Hannah Banores

Hannah Banores is the Multi-Media Team Lead at HoH. Our Multi-Media Team is responsible for working with the video capabilities the church utilizes during our services, as well as producing video content for the church.

Megan Larsen

Megan Larsen leads the CORE Youth Group at Haven of Hope. Megan is currently studying at Southern Connecticut State University, where she will graduate in May 2019 with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Communication and a minor in Business. Megan is a dedicated and hardworking young woman with a burden for the young people of our area. Together, the Core Youth Group form an amazing group of young people who know how to have fun, how to worship God, and how to make a difference at Haven of Hope.


Jeff & Pamela Banores

Jeff Banores serves as the leader of the New Haven chapter of the Azusa Street Riders, one of the ministries hosted through Haven of Hope. Azusa Street Riders is a ministry dedicated to the use of motorcycles as outreach tools for the kingdom of God. He, as well as many of the men at HoH, ride together and represent God within biker culture. He further serves as head of security for the church. Jeff and his wife, Pam do a great job serving as one of our Connect Group leaders. They also have three children, each of whom attend Haven of Hope and Serve in other leadership roles.
